PROGRAMMING

WZRD- a freeform radio station. We do not follow a weekly, daily, or hourly block schedule. However, we do have affiliations with certain networks to provide alternative informational programming.

We play whatever, whenever, and it is not unheard of to hear trip hop directly following some African chant. Many shows will follow a theme or mood, but genre reflects neither of these. The Wizard does what it wants.

As a Pacifica affiliate, WZRD plays Democracy Now from Monday to Friday every week from  8am-9am.

Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program hosted by journalists Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. Democracy Now!’s War and Peace Report provides our audience with access to people and perspectives rarely heard in the U.S.corporate-sponsored media, including independent and international journalists, ordinary people from around the world who are directly affected by U.S. foreign policy, grassroots leaders and peace activists, artists, academics and independent analysts. In addition, Democracy Now! hosts real debates–debates between people who substantially disagree, such as between the White House or the Pentagon spokespeople on the one hand, and grassroots activists on the other.”                                                 www.democracynow.org

FSRN-Free Speech Radio News Weekly is a 29-minute program that features grassroots news reports from across the U.S. and around the world, bringing radio audiences the often ignored voices of people most affected by the policies of the powerful. FSRN’s mission is to provide factual reports on important international and domestic news stories neglected or suppressed by the corporate press. We promote cultural diversity, human rights, and pluralistic community expression.  Our stories amplify the voices of those ignored and unheard. www.fsrn.org

WZRD airs the FSRN Weekly Edition every Friday at 6pm.

Thursday Night Live: Every Thursday night at 10:00pm, WZRD welcomes a new live band to the station to play a set. In true freeform fashion, artists of all types can be heard — bluegrass, hip hop, experimental, indie rock, punk rock,  local bands, touring bands, you name it. You never know who you’ll hear on the Wizard. Tune in this Thursday for live music!
